The last Tuesday in October is election of new Fair Board members. There are 15 spots on the board and each year 5 spots are up for election.

Notice of Oconto County Youth Fair Annual Meeting
The Oconto County Youth Fair Association, Inc. will hold its annual meeting Tuesday evening, October 27, 2026, at the Fair Grounds Expo Hall at Zippel Park in Gillett, WI at 7 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend and participate in this business meeting of your county fair. The meeting will feature the financial and other reports on the 2026 fair and election of the Board of Directors.
All residents of Oconto County of voting age are members of the association, which means every resident age 18 and older is eligible to participate in the meeting including voting for directors. Residents meeting the age requirement are also eligible to run for a position on the Fair Board. There are currently approximately 5 positions on the Board up for election.
Directors are responsible for conducting the business of the organization. There is an expectation that those seeking director positions have the time available to actively participate in the affairs of the association. The time commitment includes one business meeting per month throughout the year except December. The Fair Board meets on the last Tuesday every month at 7:30 pm. Additional meetings may be called in July and August. Workdays for storage of boats and campers twice a year. Additional time is required to do work in preparation for the fair with more time needed in the two to three weeks surrounding the fair to set up, manage, and put away the fair. This includes being there as able, from the Friday before the fair through the Monday after the fair with full day emphasis on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

If an individual would like to be considered for nomination but are unable to attend the Annual meeting, that individual needs to have a written letter (to include an introduction and why they are running) signed and notarized present at or before the meeting. The individual must also notify a Board of Director prior to the meeting that this letter will be there. Nominations can be made from the floor on the night of the meeting also.
